Scope and content

This series contains drawings, prints, and artwork, both original and reproduced. The bulk of the items are made up of costume and character sketches from various operas, as well as depictions of Gilbert and Sullivan themselves. Included are some hand-drawn character sketches by actor Robert Pitkin, and prints of Lucille Corcos’ illustrations for “A Treasury of Gilbert & Sullivan”. Most drawings are not dated or signed.
